Bismaleimide (BMI)

Phenolic

Fire, smoke, and toxicity (FST) performance for aircraft interiors. Meets FAR 25.853 requirements. Available with woven glass and carbon reinforcements.

Cyanate Ester

Ultra-high temperature and low dielectric properties for space structures, radomes, and satellite applications where dimensional stability is critical.

Cold Storage Required

All HexPly® prepregs must be stored at −18°C (0°F) in a sealed moisture-proof bag. Out-life at room temperature and shelf life vary by product — see individual data sheets. Epoxy structural prepreg designed for high-temperature performance with a low-energy cure cycle, making it the globally standardized repair material selected by the Commercial Aircraft Composite Repair Committee (CACRC). The woven glass version is used for non-structural galvanic corrosion protection layers in repair kits. Cures at 130°C (265°F) via vacuum bag or autoclave — exceptional processing flexibility for field and depot repair.

Hexcel's flagship aerospace carbon prepreg — a high-performance, very tough toughened epoxy matrix for primary aerospace structures. Low exotherm behavior allows straightforward curing of thick structures up to 48mm (1.89"). Controlled flow system; qualified to Boeing, Airbus, and Lockheed specifications. Available as UD tape, woven fabric, and slit tape.

Modified epoxy with self-extinguishing properties and good adhesion to honeycomb sandwich core materials. Tough, damage-tolerant aramid fabric prepreg for aircraft primary and secondary structures where impact resistance and weight savings are critical. Combines the excellent tensile strength of aramid fibers with the controlled flow and processing reliability of the 6268 resin system. Available with woven aramid reinforcements alongside woven carbon, glass, and UD carbon options within the same matrix family.
