Protective Masks / Respirators

Aerospace composite operations generate a range of inhalation hazards: carbon fiber and fiberglass particulates from cutting and sanding, chemical vapors from resins, solvents, and surface prep agents, and organic vapors from adhesives and sealants. 3M respirators are the industry-standard PPE response — available as disposable filtering facepieces for particulate work and reusable half-facepiece systems with interchangeable cartridges for multi-hazard vapor and particulate protection.

NIOSH Approval & Fit Testing: All 3M respirators are NIOSH-approved. Reusable half-facepiece respirators require employer-administered fit testing per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 before use. Disposable N95/P100 models are designed for single use and require adjustment of the nose clip and headband for a proper seal each time. The premium 3M reusable half facepiece respirator — built from advanced silicone for a soft, comfortable seal that reduces pressure points on the face throughout full shifts. The 3M Cool Flow™ exhalation valve makes breathing easier and keeps the interior cool and dry. A dual-mode head harness adjusts easily to either standard or drop-down mode, allowing the respirator to hang around the neck in a non-contaminated area without removing a hard hat — ideal for intermittent use in composite layup and finishing environments. Three sizes (7501 Small, 7502 Medium, 7503 Large) accommodate most face shapes.
